What is your favorite Homecoming event?

“Two of my favorite events on campus are the Alma Parade and the Scot Trot. I’ve walked in the Alma Parade every year as a member of the Student Advancement Association, and now, as the president of the organization, the experience is even more special. The Student Advancement Association, I along with others get to connect with alumni who return for homecoming and help with many of the weekend’s events. I love seeing community members come out and especially enjoy passing out candy to children, it always brightens my day. Being part of that tradition at Alma College fills me with pride and happiness. Another event I look forward to every year is the Scot Trot, hosted by the IPHS Honorary and IPHS Club. I’ve had the joy of walking it with my best friends, Julia and Emily, as well as my boyfriend, TJ. It’s amazing to see how many people come together to walk or run and create lasting memories with family and friends. For my friend group, it has truly become a tradition. I also love waking up to the sound of bagpipes outside my window on that day, it’s such a unique experience that I deeply enjoy. One that I will miss upon graduating from Alma next year!” – Yaw Poku (‘26)

My favorite Homecoming event would have to be the football game. I love the energy of the crowd and seeing all the alumni come back and tailgate and enjoy the game.” – Holly Hall (‘26)

“I would say my favorite Homecoming events are the tailgates and the football game. The campus becomes so alive with people and a happy place to be. I always see old students, coaches, or professors, and it is a great opportunity to reconnect. The tailgates reflect how great the Alma community is, and how good they can cook, too (haha)! During the game, all the fans are so passionate about cheering on the team that you can’t help but get excited. Win or lose, all of Scotland, USA, is there for the team, and cultures like that are one of a kind.” – Reagan Gleason (‘27)

My favorite event is the choir concert because, last year, they sang Loch Lomond.” – Jake Lasceski (‘26)
