The Scot Stop is a smoothie stand located at the concession stand in Hogan run by Kimberly Sagi and worked by students. It is open Monday through Friday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Scot Stop also accepts munch money.
“I enjoy making something healthy as well as filling for anyone that comes through I recommend that people go to the Scot Stop because of the smoothies obviously, but also because you’re not going to find this anywhere on campus,” said Pearl Amedagbe (‘27).
“I think people should go there because it’s a good quick snack before or after practice to make sure you have some sort of calories, while still being lighter and lower in calories,” said Natalie Nolph (‘27).
“What I enjoy about the Scot Stop is giving students and staff another place to go where they can get something healthy to drink. Sometimes students have classes back to back and do not have time for a meal. Our smoothies have all-natural ingredients in them that provide students and staff a delicious option to get them through until they can sit down to a meal,” said Sagi.
The Scot Stop has a “smoothie of the day” deal where that particular smoothie is $6.50. On Mondays it is the Tropics, on Tuesdays it is the Blueberry Oats, on Wednesdays it is the PB&J, on Thursdays it is the Strawberry Banana and on Fridays, it is The Scotty.
“I want people to know that we have specials now so smoothies are cheaper on specific days, we’re also always looking for ways to improve so we’d love to hear recommendations,” said Nolph.
Even though it is located in Hogan, people who are not in sports or not Alma students can utilize the Scot Stop and are encouraged to visit.
“We appreciate everyone’s business and we are available to the public and not just students and staff. All suggestions and feedback [are] appreciated. We recently changed some of our recipes so hopefully when everyone has time to stop by they [will] like to check it out,” said Sagi
“Typically, we get a lot of athletes from both the boys’ and girls’ teams, such as basketball, volleyball and soccer, however, we also see a lot of people who are just passing through Hogan,” said Nolph.
“I would say it was helpful as it helped me recover after practice. The Strawberry Banana smoothie is the best flavor,” said Ryan Gray (‘26).
“I really enjoy working there because I get to see my friends walk into Hogan to go to practice,” said Grace Ludema (‘26).
“I like that smoothies are available nearby… Yes, it is helpful. I’ve gone primarily after practice, and it’s been nice to have them so close to the pool. The place could do with some more berry flavors, though,” said Eli Mull (‘26).
“I like the wide variety of smoothie options and the fact that I can get something quick to snack on before and after practice,” said Gray.
Head on over to the Scot Stop after practice, in between classes or just for fun to get a delicious, healthy and freshly made smoothie
